My House Sober Living

My House is a Men’s Sober Living home. We are a like-minded family. Our goal is to provide a clean, safe, drug and alcohol-free environment for those who seek recovery. We have found that such a place encourages peers to support one-another in their sobriety, therefore learning new ways to cope with obstacles and adversity in their lives. Further, that ones recovery begins in the home, where people develop healthy coping skills and daily habits that encourages a new way of life.

• This home is to provide men with comfortable, quality living in surroundings conducive to abstinence, personal growth, and recovery. We strongly encourage outside and in-house meetings, as well as work, school, and other activities done as a part of society. Our goal is to maintain a sober atmosphere that supports confidence, self-worth, and the motivation necessary for a healthy return to conventional living in mainstream society.

• This is a home accepting a fee for a bed, not rent. We make clear that any resident at My House is not a tenant, but a resident who must adhere to a contract. A tenant would not be held accountable in the same way as our residents are. Our fee is a $600 bed fee, paid monthly and is non-refundable.

• Services we provide to our residents and what is expected/enforced:

1. Residents may be referred to outside agencies for further help and support beyond what My House is capable of providing, (such as mental or physical help, community assistance, counseling, etc.)

2. Upon arriving, residents receive a clean bed, linens, and a clean and sober environment. With our assistance and the assistance of our house manager, it is up to our residents to keep it this way. This is accomplished through the use of designated chores and duties.

3. In order to keep a clean, sober, and safe environment, residents are drug-tested frequently and without notice.

4. Each resident is required to attend at least four 12-step meetings each week. Further, to maintain the 12-step method of managing their drug and alcohol addiction.

5. Support to keep My House going is 100% from the bed fees we charge. We do not receive assistance from outside sources. When there is a shortage of funds, we pay directly out of pocket. We do however accept donations of clothing, shoes, or furniture for the house and residents use.
